The Bohrok Va are scouts and couriers for the Bohrok. Unlike the Bohrok, they are not controlled by the Krana.

Fast and reckless, Tahnok Va can be seen scurrying at great speed along dangerous ledges with their glowing staff of flames to guide them through the darkest of forest paths and the vast network of Mangai caves and tunnels.

After the defeat and imprisonment of the Bahrag, the Bohrok Va helped in rebuilding the Matoran villages. But unlike the Bohrok, the Bohrok Va were not controlled by the krana and thereby not susceptible to the Matorans reprogramming. So Bohrok Va used the opportunity to scout out the villages.
